Christopher J. Knox, DO
Christopher J. Knox, DO is a board-certified otolaryngologist with more than 20 years of experience caring for both adult and pediatric patients. He was drawn to otolaryngology for the variety it offers and the opportunity to treat patients of all ages.
He completed his internship and an additional year of general surgery at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, before completing his otolaryngology residency at Hamot Medical Center in Erie, Pennsylvania, part of the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center training program.
Dr. Knox has a particular interest in pediatric Ear, Nose & Throat care, especially the treatment of ear infections requiring tubes and tonsil conditions. He also has extensive experience in evaluating and treating nasal airway obstruction and chronic sinus disease.
His approach to patient care is centered on listening, simplicity, and respect. Dr. Knox believes that the more you listen, the more you learn, and he strives to treat every patient the way he would want to be treated himself. He encourages patients to ask questions and be active participants in their care. Patients and colleagues often describe him as approachable, thoughtful, and attentive.
In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Knox has held several leadership roles, including Vice President of the Medical Staff, Chief of Surgery, and Chair of the Credentials Committee at Frisbie Memorial Hospital. He has also enjoyed mentoring pre-medical students at the University of New Hampshire.
Dr. Knox is excited to join Colden Ear, Nose, Throat & Allergy, having known and respected Dr. Colden for over 15 years. He looks forward to building new patient relationships and caring for the Newburyport community and surrounding areas.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Knox enjoys an active lifestyle. He is an avid skier and serves on Ski Patrol at Sunday River, where he is entering his fifth season. He also enjoys mountain biking, fly fishing, and collecting records.
